Ghandruk: Second largest village in Nepal

Ghandruk is second largest Gurung village in Nepal and Village Development committee in Kaski District. It lies in the northern central part of Nepal. Ghandruk offers majestic views of Himalayas and beautiful landscapes. It is mainly a village of gurung community. WAYS TO REACH GHANDRUK

Ghandruk is one of the most popular trekking routes and the gateway to Annapurna Base Camp. Trekking to Ghandruk is one of the short and easy trail of Nepal. There are two ways to reach Ghandruk from Lakeside Pokhara. It is either by trekking or a short drive.

Option I: Drive To Ghandruk

  • Kathmandu to Nayapool( New Bridge)/Ghandruk
  • You can get a direct bus from Kathmandu to Ghandruk. Incase, if you book your tickets up to Nayapool you can reach Ghandruk after more 1.5 hr drive from Nayapool. And, you can reach Ghandruk village after hike for 1 hour.

Option II: Trek to Ghandruk

  • Kathmandu to Pokhara
    You can book your tickets to Pokhara from Kathmandu.
  • Pokhara – Ghandruk (915m – 1940m)
    The next day, leave from Pokhara in the morning. Get a bus or taxi ride to Phedi. From Phedi, we take our paths up the hill to Dhampus. While walking this trail gives us marvelous views of mountains like Annapurna, Manaslu. While we reach to Birethati, turn right after crossing the river(Modi) and continue your walk for 4-5 hours up the hill until you reach this beautiful Gurung village.
