11 November, Kathmandu. Lakshmi Mahato Koiri of CPN-UML has been elected in Constituency No. 1 of Mahottari.
Mahato defeated CPN Maoist Center Deputy General Secretary and former minister Girirajmani Pokharel and was elected as a member of the House of Representatives.
Mahato received with 23 thousand 402 votes whereas Pokharel received 22 thousand 372 votes. Similarly, unbiased candidate Poshan Bahadur Thapa received 7 thousand 812 votes, Rajkishore Sah of Janmaat Party received 3 thousand 598 votes, Khem Kumari Bhurtel of Rashtriya Swatantra Party received 2 thousand 64 votes.
