Maoist’s Gombu Sherpa was elected to the state meeting from Solukhumbu

8 November, Solukhumbu. Gombu Sherpa ‘Karjyang’ has been elected from Solukhumbu State Assembly Constituency 1. CPN Maoist Center candidate Sherpa was elected by defeating CPN UML candidate Uttam Kumar Basnet.

Elected Sherpa was elected by 1637 votes. Sherpa has 10 thousand 35 votes whereas Basnet has acquired 8 thousand 398 votes.

In the election of 2074, Basnet, who was elected as a member of the provincial assembly and have become an MP for five years and have become the state minister of province 1, misplaced by 1,637 votes. Basnet, who hoped to win with a large margin, was defeated by Sherpa by a margin of 1600 votes.
