6 November, Biratnagar. Nepali Congress chief Gayanand Mandal has been elected within the State Assembly 1 of Morang-5.
The 79-year-old Mandal, the candidate of the Left Democratic Alliance, received by defeating UML chief Santosh Shah, who was a candidate from the Jaspa-UML alliance. He obtained 14,838 votes. UML candidate Santosh Kumar Sah obtained 9405 votes. The difference between the 2 is 5,438.
Janmaat Party candidate Anil Kumar Jha obtained 2 thousand 827 votes in that area. RPP candidate Sonal Kumari Sah has obtained 1 thousand 921.
Mandal had beforehand misplaced to Shiv Kumar Mandal, the chief of CPN-Maoist Center, within the second Constituent Assembly election of 2070 by 8 votes. This time he was victorious with the assistance of Shiva Kumar.
Shiv Kumar is a candidate for the member of the House of Representatives from the Left Democratic Alliance. Gayanand turned a candidate within the state assembly. In 2070, the Maoist candidate Mandal received from the then 4 (at present 5) with 9,360 votes, whereas the Congress candidate Gayanand Mandal obtained 9,352 votes.
