10 November, Ilam. In the Elam Representative Assembly Constituency No. 2, a troublesome competition has been seen between former speaker Subash Chandra Nemwang and Nepali Congress candidate Dambar Bahadur Khadka from the alliance.
Towards the tip of the counting of votes, when the counting of the votes of Ward No. 1 of Ilam Municipality was about to finish, Khadka beat Nemwang by a margin of 16 votes.
According to the Election Commission, Nemwang has received 28,470 votes to date, whereas Khadka has surpassed with 28,486 votes.
Now the counting of votes for Ward No. 1 and a pair of of Ilam Municipality has began. Out of those two wards, one ward was gained by the Congress and the opposite by the UML within the final native elections. According to the results of the vote, there’s a distinction of just a few votes in each the wards.
Gayatri Ram Basnet, ward president of Nepali Congress, defeated UML’s Ambika Prasad Gautam by 59 votes within the native elections. Basnet bought 1081 votes whereas Gautam bought 1022 votes.
Similarly, Giriraj Rizal of UML defeated Virendra Rai of Congress by a margin of 98 votes in Ward No. 2. Rizal bought 724 votes whereas Rai bought 626 votes.
Out of the 2 remaining wards, Congress and UML are sturdy in a single ward and the distinction between the 2 candidates is slim.
