The three sailors took refuge in a raft till they had been picked up by one other fishing boat, which transferred them to a ship mobilized by Maritime Rescue. The three had been picked up protected and sound and later transferred to the port of Porto do Son.
Maritime Rescue, the Civil Guard, the Muros GES, the Local Police and the Muros Civil Protection Volunteer Group additionally participated within the operation.
