The presence of a drone flying over the Adolfo Suárez-Madrid Barajas airport has induced delays in touchdown and takeoff operations all through Sunday morning.

The incident on runway 32-R has affected home and worldwide flights, which have been directed to different runways, with out it having been essential to divert flights to different aerodromes or cancel operations, though there have been delays.

According to sources from the National Police have reported to El Confidencial, there have been no arrests nor has the unmanned plane been shot down.

AENA, the airport supervisor, indicated on its Twitter account that “as a result of sighting of a drone at AS Madrid-Barajas, the process between Aena, Enaire and the FFCCSE has been activated for about an hour. It has already been deactivated and a few flights have been seen affected with delay”.
