The mosques dedicate this Friday’s prayer to Diego, the sacristan who died in Algeciras

The Islamic group of Algeciras is round 20 thousand individuals. Almost 15 % of the inhabitants that at the moment is anxious with sending a powerful message of peace: Islam will not be violence, they insist. This Friday most of the Andalusian mosques will dedicate their prayer, scheduled at 2:00 p.m., to Diego Valencia, the sacristan who misplaced his life this Wednesday within the Church of La Palma, sufferer of the assault perpetrated by Yasine Kanjaa.

In this fashion, they need to present their condemnation of any violent act and separate it from their faith. In some mosques, as confirmed to NIUS Laser El Himmer, from the Andalusian Islamic Union, there may even be a minute of silence, after the prayer, as a tribute to the sufferer.

A peaceable coexistence that continues intact in Algeciras and that they wished to reveal with a picture: that of the parish priest of the church of La Palma embracing the president of the Islamic communities of Campo de Gibraltar.

The detainee had been concerned in incidents within the mosques and was expelled

They didn’t know the detainee. They had hardly seen him across the mosques. Only on two events and in each circumstances had he been concerned in incidents. The first ten days in the past, in the primary mosque of Algeciras, the place he complained that Muslims entered the prayer with moist ft. The second incident within the Abu Bakr mosque, the place he entered asking that or not it’s stored open 24 hours, “with unhealthy manners and in an unwise perspective”, after which he was expelled.
