Ten years after the Alvia accident, which faces the ultimate stretch of the trial for the 80 victims and 145 injured

For its half, the trial that started final October is dealing with its ultimate stretch. This Thursday ends after months of statements by consultants, injured, kin of the victims, state safety forces and our bodies and the 2 defendants: Francisco Garzón, driver throughout the accident, and Andrés Cortabitarte, former head of Adif safety. The personal prosecution requests 4 years in jail for each, whereas the Prosecutor’s Office withdrew the jail request for Cortabitarte on the final second, a call that precipitated nice disappointment among the many kin of the victims.
