Tax evasion case in opposition to importation of overseas cigarettes and gutkha

15 November, Kathmandu. The Revenue Investigation Department has filed a case in opposition to an individual who evaded customs by importing overseas manufacturers of cigarettes, gutkha and different objects into Nepal and promoting them.

The division has filed a case in opposition to Chhavilal Agasti alias Navraj Sharma of Parsa Sakhuwa Parsauni 3 in Patan High Court on costs of income leakage, the division stated.

The Revenue Investigation Department has claimed a requirement of two.16 million bigo in opposition to Agasti. The division alleges that the defendant is importing and promoting overseas model cigarettes and gutkha in Nepal with out paperwork equivalent to invoice of lading and customs declaration. According to the division, he evaded the income that ought to be paid to the federal government in accordance with the legislation.
