7 November, Jhapa. Tilchan Pathak of CPN-UML has been elected in Jhapa Region No. 2 State Assembly (2). He defeated Khagendra Mainali of Nepali Congress by a margin of three,840 votes.
In this space, UML had an electoral synergy with Rashtriya Prajatantra Party. Pathak, who can also be the UML state committee secretary, obtained 20,184 votes, whereas Mainali obtained 16,344 votes. Mainali is the frequent candidate of the ruling coalition.
