November 6, Kathmandu. Mohan Acharya of the Nepali Congress has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Rasuwa.
Acharya, who was elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Rasuwa in 2074, defeated CPN-UML candidate Chowang Tenzing Tamang by a large margin in his second victory. Acharya received 18 thousand 235 votes whereas Tamang received 8 thousand 614 votes. The difference between them is 9,621.
He joined the Nepal Vidyarthi Sangh in 2048 and began his political journey. He was a member of the Nepali Congress General Committee in 2072 and was elected as a member of the Congress Central Committee in 2078.
A 46-year-old Acharya is an engineer.
