November 8, Kathmandu. Thapa Thapa of Nepali Congress has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Bhaktapur Constituency No. 2. Thapa defeated CPN-UML’s Mahesh Basnet by a margin of 823 votes within the counting of votes that ended on Thursday morning.

Thapa, the frequent candidate of the ruling coalition, obtained 23,500 votes, whereas his nearest rival, Basnet, obtained 22,677 votes. Nemkipa’s Anuradha Thapa Magar obtained 6,954 votes, Rashtriya Swatantra Party’s Sajan Vick obtained 3820 votes and RPP’s Mohan KC obtained 2486 votes.

In this space, 61 thousand 791 votes have been forged because of 63 thousand 842 votes. 2 thousand 51 votes have been invalidated.
