Demonstration of taxi drivers in opposition to the excessive parking payment in Tribhuvan Airport space

13 November, Kathmandu. Taxi drivers have protested over the rise in parking charges within the Tribhuvan International Airport space. They demonstrated in entrance of the arrival gate of the airport on Tuesday morning.

The land of the airport has been leased by an organization referred to as IMS Airport Services. Owners of autos parking there have been complaining of getting to pay costly charges.

The taxi drivers protested by sitting in entrance of the gate saying that earlier they have been charging 20 rupees per hour for parking payment, however now it has been elevated to 80 rupees they usually have threatened to boost it to 100 rupees. The protest was led by the Nepal Transport Independent Workers’ Organization affiliated to Geephant.
