The Minister of the Presidency, Relations with the Courts and Democratic Memory, Félix Bolaños, has responded to the ERC president, Oriol Junqueras, {that a} referendum is not going to be held “neither by the agreed path nor by the unilateral path” as a result of it’s opposite to the Constitution and would imply “chronifying” the battle.
Bolaños spoke in these phrases in an interview on TVE when requested about Junqueras’ statements wherein he assured that the group of a referendum “is just not contemplated within the Penal Code and due to this fact it isn’t a criminal offense” and that it’s democratic even whether it is convened unilaterally.
“The referendum is opposite to our Constitution and can’t be held. It is just not an answer both as a result of it’s divisive and would solely make the battle persistent,” pressured the minister, who recalled that what was signed on the Dialogue Table in July this 12 months is that each the central authorities and the Generalitat would perform “politics inside the legislation and the Constitution”.
