12 November, Kathmandu. Ashok Kumar Rai of Janata Samajwadi Party has been elected from Sunsari 1.
Rai was elected as a member of the House of Representatives after defeating Goma Tamang of the National Independent Party.
Rai received 17 thousand 59 votes whereas Tamang received 16 thousand 606 votes. Muksamahang Subba of Maoist got here third with 13 thousand 87 votes.
Similarly, RPP’s Ashok Kumar Rai received 7,884 votes, Manoj Kumar Meyangbo, who rebelled from UML and ran as an impartial candidate, received 7,812 votes, one other impartial Tarka Bahadur Magar received 3,818 votes, Kumar Karki received 1,864 votes, and Matrik Prasad Bhattarai received 1,760 votes.
