The Geophysical Institute (IG) of the National Polytechnic School of Ecuador has confirmed an earthquake from 6.5 to 29.12 kilometers from Balao, Guayas province. The tremor was registered at 12:12 native time (18:12 Spanish peninsular time).
The earthquake has been felt in cities akin to Pomasqui, La Vicentina, Carcelén and Nayón, in line with the newspaper ‘El Comercio’. From Guayaquil, Loja, Ambato, Zamora, Cuenca or Manabí they’ve reported a robust tremor.
In Quito, the Ecuadorian capital, the motion was felt barely, reviews the newspaper ‘El Universal’.
