The former Deputy Minister of Employment of the Junta de Andalucía Antonio Fernández García, sentenced to 7 years in jail for the case of the ERE, has already entered jail, sources near the defendants reported to EFE this Sunday.
Fernández, the second of the convicts to enter jail, has opted for the Puerto 3 jail in Cádiz and has performed so earlier than the deadline for doing so, which ends at 11:59 p.m. right this moment.
Fernández, sentenced to seven years, eleven months and sooner or later in jail and to 19 years and 6 months of disqualification for the crimes of embezzlement and prevarication, was Deputy Minister of Employment of the Andalusian authorities between April 2000 and April 2004 and Minister of Employment between April 2004 and March 2010.
