The Civil Guard has recognized 14 folks between the ages of 23 and 70 and Moroccan nationals for a violation of Law 42/2007 on Natural Heritage and Biodiversity, by amassing snails and making an attempt to promote them for human consumption irregularly.
At the start of July, a Civil Guard patrol along with one other from the Guadassuar Local Police intercepted and recognized 14 folks carrying 23 mesh baggage filled with backyard snails (cornu aspersum) and that these folks had been making an attempt to promote in varied locations for later human consumption.
After verifying by the specialised patrol of SEPRONA that they’d been bought to some restaurant institutions within the Camp de Morvedre area and the illegality of their origin, they had been seized. In whole, 247 kilograms of snails had been seized, with an approximate worth of three,500 euros.
