Two younger Nigerians aged 18 and 22 arrive on the port of Las Palmas clinging to the rudder blade of a ship


Two younger migrants, aged 18 and 22, have arrived on the port of Las Palmas on the helm of a ship, the place they’ve been rescued by Maritime Rescue. Two younger Nigerians, aged 18 and 22, have arrived on the port of Las Palmas on the helm of a ship. They have been 6 days clinging to the blade of the ship, till they have been rescued by Maritime Rescue, as reported by the Las Palmas Port Police.

Maritime Rescue has needed to mobilize the Salvamar Nunki and the auxiliary boat of the ship Miguel de Cervantes to rescue the younger folks.

They have returned to the port of origin

Subsequently, the 2 younger folks have been transferred by personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) to the Doctor Negrín hospital in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. After their restoration, they’ve been returned to the ship, having to be transferred to the port of origin, as indicated within the protocol.

The younger folks have been perched on the helm of the MSC Marta ship, which covers a freight transport route between West Africa and Europe with the port of Las Palmas as an intermediate cease.

This is the second time in lower than a month that an MSC container ship has arrived on the Port of Las Palmas with folks on the rudder blade.
