A Police inspector supplied days off for every migrant detained in Irun

This is the order signed by the chief inspector of the Irun (Gipuzkoa) Local Immigration and Border Brigade as an incentive to his subordinates.

The mandate, which started to be utilized on July 1, was denounced by the Jupol police union via social networks.

The instruction established that with none arrest, two days off can be granted, with a detainee three days of compensation would correspond, whereas from two onwards 4 days of depart can be granted.

Sources from the General Directorate of the Police have reported the opening of a file to the police officer who signed the order, which has been annulled.

According to a grievance by Jupol Gipuzkoa, the headquarters of the Brigade are “urgent” to extend the variety of detentions associated to foreigners in Irún and “scorching returns”.
